Energy Star homes, simply put, are better for the environment and better for you. They are built to be substantially more energy efficient than those built strictly to meet the minimum code requirements. Partners in the Energy Star program include supporting utilities as well as products such as refrigerators, heating and cooling elements and windows. Learn more about Energy Star products and what it takes to improve your home's energy efficiency which will lower energy bills, improve comfort and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

LEED for Homes promotes the design and construction of high-performance homes which are energy efficient, resource efficient, and results in better health for its occupants. A home that achieves LEED certification has been designed to maximize fresh air indoors, minimizing exposure to airborne toxins and pollutants. It also has the potential to use 20 to 30 percent less energy—and some up to 60 percent less—than a home built to code. Less energy use also results in lower utility bills every month! Learn more about the LEED for homes program.
